That Kid Training
That Kid Training New Date October 26
That Kid Training is a workshop for parents and anyone else who works with children. It comes highly recommended by one of our board members. Can you invite someone to come? Please do. This is open to the community. It starts at 10am and we will break for lunch and it will conclude at 1:30pm. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP so that we can get a good count for lunch.
The goals of the training are to:
- Help people understand trauma and the impact it has on people’s lives.
- Help people feel more knowledgeable and equipped to deal with the complex realities that they may encounter when ministering to those who have experienced trauma.
- Give practical skills to ministry staff and volunteers.
- Bring Glory to God as everything is done from a Biblical perspective.

Learning About Different Cultures
This year I would like to have the students learn about different countries and cultures. Our school has many families from different countries and cultures. I would like each month to represent a different country. Can you help me with coming in and speaking about your country? If you can, please let me know what month you would like to come. I’d like to do Columbia next.
This month we learned about Puerto Rico. Ms. Yanira is from Puerto Rico and today she shared information about Puerto Rico and brought in some homemade treats for us to taste. The students have been researching about Puerto Rico and sharing their information in writing.

October 4—Chick-Fil-A
October 11— Upper Elementary to see Sarasota Orchestra
October 11—Pizza
October 15—The Opera is coming to us!
October 17—End of Quarter 1
October 18—No school
